Bali is a friendly and welcoming island in Indonesia where religion and traditions are part of the everyday fabric of life. It is the only province of muslim Indonesia where Hinduism is the predominant religion. The Balinese people believe deeply in the spiritual world. Their lives, customs and traditions revolve around this belief that permeates every aspect of life, and expressions of their faith are apparent from the time you step into the street, attend a Gamelan orchestra performance and admire the talented traditional dancers depicting their history through play or visit one of the many temples. A mountainous island, Bali was shaped to a large extent by volcanoes and some of the landscapes are breathtaking. In this gallery I have tried to capture some aspects of this vibrant culture and the beauty of the land.
